28/12/2012 My first entryThis very week on Christmas night, I was in the sanctuary sitting and waiting for the Christmas service to start. I had a thought of putting my medical knowledge and experience weaved into my understanding of the bible into a book. A book for Christian medical workers and students in related fields.
Practicing medicine today is often fraught with confusion. Evidence based medicine provides a new direction to how I should practice but sometimes it only increases my uncertainty, And there is a constant chase for new evidence. And new replaces old. For the last 16 years of my medical practice , I have been presented with new guidelines and workflows , that will become old, and then replaced by new ones again. Some of which are very reasonable, others are questionable but many seem to have another agenda being pushed by the authors of the new. In all these the Bible stands firm and unchanging. I have read the bible many times and researched many of its health related topics. Then I realized God has already written very clearly in the bible His plans for our physical bodies. And when I practice medicine , I see in my patients His plan holds true always. Instead of writing a book, I have decided to create a website. Its purpose the same as the book I planned. The title " Bible based Medicine " is in response to growing push for Evidence based Medicine. Over time I will enter my understanding of the bible combine with my medical training as short essays. All its contents will have no copyright and is free for distribution. It is my belief that God has given all Christian medical workers the gift of healing through their training. And It is my hope that through my website Christian medical workers may be encouraged in their faith. And their faith will become a light to their patients. 1 Cor 12:28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.
