7/6/2013 A doctor in the churchQ&A In my church, there is 1 doctor (that's me) , 1 dentist and a few nurses. Naturally health related questions will find their way to me. Most questions are from individuals who want an opinion or simple advice. This year we had a quite a number of church members, especially kids, coming down with flu with a few having lower respiratory tract infection. A deacon asked me a question on infection control. My reply to him is posted on the Q&A page. In Singapore 2012 health stats, there is 1 doctor to every 520 residents; which is a close approximation of me being in my 300+ church. Paul in 1 Corinthians 12 used the analogy of the body parts to describe each individual role in the body of Christ. Over the years I have come to marvel how wonderful God has placed everyone in the church. Nothing is by accident, but everything was planned by Him so that the church has all it needs.. I have my role, so does the dentist, the nurses, all other professions - IT experts, teachers, logistics, And yes even the homemakers who prepare meals after our fellowship meetings.
